The Importance of Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is an incredibly important skill all Wealth Creators must develop. We use this skill (or ought to) in every aspect of our lives every single day. Although it’s an important part of academic and business success, it’s not often taught at school unless it’s part of a math, science, or business curriculum.

The basic definition of critical thinking is the ability to take information and make informed decisions without being influenced by your own opinions. Critical thinking is all about being in control of your own thought processes rather than letting it take control of you.

Wealth Insight 2009-07-10 Why is it so hard to keep it simple? In my experience, everything worth knowing in life is simple. Why then do our teachers and the media make it so complicated? I think there are several reasons: desire to keep valuable knowledge to yourself an agenda to mislead others so that you can profit In my opinion, these stem from fear of scarcity (the myth that there is not enough to go around). But perhaps the greatest reason of them all is ignorance Which comes... Read more...

Wealth Insight 2009-08-14 Just because it doesn’t glitter doesn’t mean it isn’t gold! Just the other day I heard of a woman who helped her boss start a new business. She was with him for twenty years, starting from Day 1. She opened up in the morning, she closed up at night. She knew the business better than he did. So he could and did leave most of it in her capable hands while he travelled, enjoyed holidays, etc. There was almost nothing about that business that she did not... Read more...

Nou kan ek egter verstaan hoekom ry die karre so vreeslik stadig oor die Read more...

Even then Hannes was different, motivated, “op sy eie missie” some would say. But he made Read more...

I have always been miserable in everything I do, because I always wanted something bigger and better.  I used to wake up in the morning and try to convince myself that I need to get up and go to work to get a pay slip the end of the month.  “That’s where money comes from”, I tried to convince myself.  You have to work hard to get somewhere in life.  I always knew that this wasn’t true, but I had to convince myself to be able to go forward in... Read more...
