Conquering Anxiety With Affirmations

It can be difficult to do anything with your normal passion and excitement if you are feeling anxious. Anxiety can squelch your motivation and control your life – if you let it.

If you have experienced an anxiety attack, you may be fearful of having another one, but living in such fear means you are living in a state of perpetual anxiety. This can happen just because you are afraid of the anxiety itself!

Those who have never experienced an anxiety attack or high levels of anxiety cannot understand how hard this cycle can be to break.
  • If you believe you have to live in a constant state of fear and anxiety you’re wrong – you really can learn how to deal with the anxiety in a more positive manner.
Letting Go of the Anxiety

Worrying about the next anxiety attack can cause you to be in a constant state of fear that may keep you from doing the things you want or need to do. Anxiety can be crippling, but that doesn't mean that it has to be.

It can be hard to stop the cycle once you develop the pattern of having anxiety-related feelings and anxiety attacks, but it isn’t impossible. You can overcome the anxiety cycle by using tools that are easy and convenient and you may be able to overcome the cycle in less time than you thought possible.

Using Positive Affirmations to Overcome Anxiety

One way you can conquer anxiety is by using positive affirmations. These statements are a simple way to change your thought processes so you aren't always waiting for anxiety to take charge of your life.

Many people create their own affirmations while others use affirmations from websites or books. It doesn’t matter where you find the affirmations, just as long as you begin using them effectively throughout your day.
  • Choose affirmations that speak to you and help you overcome your fear of anxiety. Affirmations must focus on the present and they should be about you, not anyone else.
Examples of Affirmations to Defeat Anxiety

Anxiety affirmations are simply positive statements that you can say to yourself in those moments when you start to feel anxious. You can use these at any time and for any reason to calm your nerves and bring peace of mind.

For example, you can tell yourself, "I can overcome my fears because I am in control," or "I no longer need to be frightened. I allow myself to receive the light of who I am.” Any statement that replaces the anxious thoughts with a positive feeling will work.
  • Say these affirmations during anxious moments as often as you need to and continue affirming the positive thoughts until the anxious moment has passed.
By using these affirmations when you are feeling anxious, you are literally reprogramming your mind. In doing so, you will be able to think in a more positive manner, and you can also use these affirmations to refocus your mind away from your anxiety and fear.

Every time you use an affirmation, you leave less and less room for the irrational fears and the anxiety that have ruled your life for far too long.

What if the negative feelings has been reinforced over a very long period? Like you say in the course - it seems as if the negative mind has completely taken hold over certain portions of your life. To take an example from my life. I love flying. I actually got selected for pilots course in the Air Force. Then I got sick in the aircraft during the first sortie we flew - but so did almost everyone else. Difference is that they "got over it". I didn't and as a result I couldn't continue (although I stuck with it for 20 more sorties). So it wasn't as though I didn't try! (But I sure didn't try hard enough to understand the problem). To connect it to your story today... I went to see a pshycologist during that time and you know what she said - "You are stressed!" Just by looking at me! At that point I was young and full of it so I wrote it off. But the more I do your course and start looking more into my life I can see what she meant and that I must really work on my stress levels. And I have started doing it, and it is starting to feel better. The question now is, when I fly, even comercially, I tend to get sick at the slightest turbulence. And I know it is 99% because of anxiety in that moment. And it has been ingrained into me over a long period. I have tried to be positive when I fly, eating and drinking right and also using affirmations. This helps a lot during normal flying but once the turbulence starts... So is there any way to break such an intense feeling?

Wealth Insight 2009-06-26 Inside information nobody else will tell you about a website There have been 800 or so questions asked and answered on www.build-a-web.com. Many are about the course itself, but many others are relevant to any website. So if you have a website or plan to create one, you might find some of the information really useful! As far as I know a lot of the time you will not be told this ‘out straight’. Remember, the truth whispers, while misinformation shouts! ... Read more...

Wealth Insight 2009-09-11 Success story: from PA to webmaster A couple of months ago Netta, my personal assistant, had the same computer skills as most people. She used a computer every day but was not a programmer or IT expert. She did the basic Build A Web course (www.build-a-web.com) because she liked the idea of being able to create her own website in less than an hour. It didn’t cost her anything, and she enjoyed it. A week or so ago she was able to take over as webmaster on my... Read more...

Wealth Insight 2009-10-30 The true nature of money – and why it matters Money is part of our everyday life. Like sunshine or rain. We even think of it as a kind of force of nature, not of our making. Yet money is a man-made thing. And the way it was made affects us. It encourages us to do certain things. For example, take inflation. Governments create inflation by printing too much money. They then hide the size of the problem. - So our hard-earned money loses value fast. - And we then... Read more...
